What is the Arizona divorce process?
In Arizona, the divorce process goes as follows. A petitioner would file a complaint with the Superior Court of Arizona. After filing that complaint, they would serve the respondent, or the other spouse, at which time that person would have 20 days to file a response to the petition for dissolution of marriage. If the person does not file a response, the parties can be divorced in 60 days pursuant to a default decree. If, however, the person files a response, the case will follow a normal trajectory in the Superior Court which could include a settlement conference, arbitration or in some cases, although not many, trial.
